Garage and garden suites are small standalone dwelling units constructed in conjunction with a detached garage, or as an accessory structure. The suites are part of the Neighbourhood Level Infill Development Strategy.
This Strategy works to ensure that the distinctive development patterns and historic characteristics of pre-war and post-war neighbourhoods are maintained. It proposes regulatory amendments that will help to minimize massing of new developments, regulate infill lot grading, address parking concerns, and protect the streetscape.
The Strategy recommends development of garden and garage suites.
Proposed regulations for garden and garage suites will be presented at a come-and-go Open House on: Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frances Morrison Library (Room 3 – Lower Level)

• Design Guidelines
• Building Code requirements
• The approval process
Staff will be in attendance to answer questions and materials will be available. Everyone is welcome to attend.
